Water Testing Monitors Needed

2024 BAKER RIVER WATER TESTING
WENTWORTH CONSERVATION COMMISSION - BAKER RIVER WATERSHED ASSOC
AND NH DEPT OF ENVIROMENTAL SERVICES
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

This water testing monitors the quality of the Baker River in each of the four towns along it's length. We're looking for volunteers this summer who are able and willing to spend about 2 - 3 hours a month from the end of May to the beginning of September. Volunteers work alongside BRWA water quality coordinator, Lisa Doner, to collect water samples and analyze them at three sites along the river in each town. Volunteers need to be readily reachable by email or phone, and be reliable in the dates and times they agree to. No expertise is needed. Training is done on site for collection method, operating and reading results on the supplied testing equipment.

Wentworth's three sites are:

  • Warren/Wentworth Town Line across from East Side Road
  • Riverside Park aka Paige's swim hole underneath the walking covered bridge
  • Sanders Hill Road aka Silver Bridge swim hole

Scheduled dates: (time to be announced-last year was in AM)

  • May 31, 2024
  • June 28, 2024
